Male Make-up

I've touched on this topic before, so I won't linger, but I found this video on YouTube today, and for some reason men (or teens as in this video) wearing make-up intrigues me, especially when it is for enhancing facial features (rather than changing who they are, as is the case with drag queens). It doesn't intrigue me because I want to do the same thing, it's just that it is different from my personal life experience. Although I grew up with 3 sisters, I never really experienced that side of their lives. I was always the one who would be ready to go somewhere in 20 minutes, whereas they would take an hour (or more!) and I would never venture into the bathroom when they were getting ready. So to see what goes into doing one's make-up is intriguing in itself, let alone seeing a 16 year old boy doing his own make-up.

Comment question: Have you ever dabbled in men's make-up?

I tried makeup once, I had a job interview and wore some foundation because I had a zit (Ewww) It made my skin look a lot better lol, but I don't have the patience to mess with it every day.

I'm a girl, but still...
I don't use make-up. At all. It is the inside who counts. And also a lot of those who use make-up, look like some kind of plastic dolls. Not pretty. But still, you do what you do, and some do look better with make-up. Also, the eye sees what it wants to see.

I don't like make-up on guys. I went through that phase 4 years ago, and after a while of doing it I had to stop. What does it say about us as persons if we are unable to show our true faces? We might not be as handsome as the next person, but are we not all multi-dimensional characters with personalities and souls?

Regarding the boy in the video: he looked great after he put all of his make-up on, but how did he look different from before? I think he looked better before he put on the make-up because we're able to see the real person with no facade painted over it. I think what changes the most with the before/after make-up application process is self-perception and self-confidence. These are great things to have, but at what cost? That one must alter their looks, if even temporarily, to achieve these boosts in self-worth is a depressing idea. I take pride in who I am and if I'm not as handsome without make-up, so be it. I don't need make-up because I'm wonderful the way I am.

I'm not writing this because I am ugly, btw ;D Because I'm not!
